Inspiring teachers to inspire the world
The Academy for Teachers brings together teachers with luminaries, experts, and artists to create a supportive community of inspired educators.
Our mission is to honor and support teachers through world-class learning experiences that inspire them to continue changing lives, in the classroom and beyond.
Teachers are the world’s most valuable—and least appreciated—resource. The impact of a good teacher is incalculable, but too many teachers burn out too soon.
We offer a solution to the crisis of teacher retention. Research shows that teachers who take part in the Academy's programs become 4X more likely to stay in the profession than teachers who don't.
Our wide array of intellectual, cultural, and pedagogical events inspire passionate, creative, and devoted teachers who are in search of professional growth.
Led by experts from all arenas, our intimate master classes provide teachers with thrilling new ideas, better teaching strategies, and renewed excitement for their work with students.
All teachers are welcome to our free lectures, workshops, performances, social gatherings, and group activities. Join our community!
Our year-long fellowship addresses two serious problems: the failure to retain early career teachers and the underrepresentation of teachers of color across the profession.
Stay tuned for updates to our schedule of master classes, special events, and grant deadlines.
Teachers accepted to our master classes become Fellows of the Academy for Teachers and join our growing community of dedicated educators. Our Faculty include Nobel laureates, Pulitzer Prize winners, academic superstars, leading artists, and brilliant scientists.
The Academy is unique in welcoming teachers from public, charter, and private schools. Our programs for this diverse community of passionate teachers are supported by the Private Schools & Public Education Partnership.
Help us keep great teachers in the classroom
Teachers, our most valuable resource, are struggling. Overwhelmed and under-supported, too many teachers leave the profession too soon. The Academy’s enriching experiences and supportive community have been proven to improve those odds.
