Our Schools & Fellows

Those accepted into our master classes become Fellows of the Academy for Teachers, joining a growing community of New York’s most passionate educators. Our Fellows are K-12 teachers who work in public, charter, and private schools (primarily) across the New York metropolitan area.

The Private Schools and Public Education Partnership

We bring together public, private, and charter school teachers to create an environment where educators can learn together, share perspectives and ideas, make friends, and in the process, gain a deeper understanding of different educational contexts. The Private Schools and Public Education Partnership makes this diverse, inclusive, and inspiring experience available to all teachers from sectors.

2024-2025 Private School and Public Education Partner Institutions

The leaders of the independent schools below have endorsed the Private Schools and Public Education Partnership because of the transformational learning experiences it makes possible and because the community it supports is powerful, productive, and joyful. It strengthens the teachers we count on to inspire and teach thousands and thousands of children.

Help us keep great teachers in the classroom

Teachers, our most valuable resource, are struggling. Overwhelmed and under-supported, too many teachers leave the profession too soon. The Academy’s enriching experiences and supportive community have been proven to improve those odds.
