The Academy for Teachers has been designing the best-in-class professional learning experiences and community for teachers for over a decade. Whereas most of the support teachers get focuses on compliance with standards and boosting test scores, we focus on the root of why teachers do what they do: inspiration.
We bring teachers into elevated spaces to hear from Nobel Laureates. We invite teachers to break bread (literally: dinner!) with leading researchers and artists in their fields. We score impossible-to-get Shakespeare in the Park tickets and dole them out to our members. We sing in choirs, swing at the plate in softball games, and gather together for book clubs. We don’t just treat teachers like they are professionals; we treat them like they are curious, creative, and committed human beings.
With your help, we can do what we do in bigger and better ways. Here’s how we can partner:
Sponsorship. We are searching for brand-aligned partners to sponsor our annual gala called Show Teachers the Love (STTL). You can sponsor the whole event, part of the event, and/or purchase a table so teachers can attend for free. Just be warned: STTL is unlike any gala you have been to–think of it more as a hands-on, fun tribute to the teachers in all our lives.
Board Participation. The Board is the energy that drives our whole organization. We are looking for professionals across the spectrum who have a deep appreciation for teaching and offer unique contributions they are ready to activate on behalf of The Academy. Whether it's your network, your skills (finance, legal, marketing, entertainment), and/or your own funds, we would love to connect with you to see if we are a good mutual match.
Faces and Spaces. We are always looking to connect with influential individuals (actors, performers, chefs, intellectuals–experts of all kinds) who share our unique love of teaching, AND to learn about special spaces where we might be able to hold events with teachers. Help us connect with new faces and/or spaces that can help elevate the work of teachers.
