In this high-energy workshop, led by award-winning dancer and choreographer Danielle Lima, you will experience Brazil’s vibrant dance and music culture firsthand. Whether you are stepping onto the floor for the first time or looking to refine your technique, this session offers an inclusive, supportive space to learn fundamental steps and connect with Samba’s infectious rhythms. Guided by live drumming, you will expand your cultural knowledge, revitalize your spirit, and discover the pure joy of Brazilian dance. Join us and bring these dynamic rhythms to life!

Dancer, Choreographer, Teacher

Danielle Lima is a professional Brazilian Samba dancer, choreographer, and educator whose career highlights include performing for several years with G.R.E.S. Beija-flor in Rio de Janeiro’s Carnaval and touring with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. In New York City, she founded the non-profit performance group Brasileirando Dance Group (also known as the Danielle Lima Dance Group), leading performances at Lincoln Center, Socrates Sculpture Park, and the Soho Art Parade. She is a leading Samba figure in the United States, serving as a visiting faculty member and judge for major national and international events such as the International Samba Congress, Canada Samba Congress, California Brazil Camp, and many regional Queen & King of Samba competitions.
