The Art of Seeing: A Photography WorkshopMaster ClassIn-Person

Stephen Frailey

Wednesday, Apr 15, 2026

9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m

Our partner, The Salmagundi Club, is hosting this event.

In advance of this master class, participants will submit twelve photographs—anything from casual snapshots to more formal work—as long as the images are their own. Together, we will explore how even a small group of photographs very quickly form an idea, a train of thought, a sensibility: a deeply individual response to the world. Photography is multiple choice, and what we instinctively photograph begins a body of work that, once identified, can flourish into something we can move forward and learn from. Through shared viewing, discussion, and new shooting, participants will discover how instinct, attention, and curiosity combine to shape both artistic voice and visual understanding.
