The Magic of Data Visualization, with The PuddingMaster ClassIn-Person

The Pudding

Tuesday, May 19, 2026

9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m

Venue to be announced.

Data describes our world. It allows us to see the big picture from a bird’s-eye view while also empowering us to zoom in on individual data points to see exactly what is happening to people. It is nothing short of a superpower! Yet so often, we view data as a large math problem or merely numbers in a spreadsheet.

In this master class, we will learn how to reclaim the power of data with journalists from The Pudding—a group of storytellers, designers, and engineers who create award-winning interactive visual essays. The Pudding will walk us through how they unleash the power of data and then guide us on our own data visualization journey. By the end of this session, you will no longer see data as a bunch of numbers, but rather as a rich, descriptive tool for better understanding our lives and the complex world around us.
