What happens when we repeat a mathematical process? In this hands-on master class, we will explore interesting iterative activities and the underlying mathematics of where they lead. We will discuss how iteration can be used to generate surprising results, solve mathematical problems—and create art.

Japheth Wood
Japheth Wood is a mathematician engaged in the mathematical education of students at many levels, including undergraduate students, pre-service math teachers, middle school math circle students, incarcerated math majors, and advanced high school math team students. At Bard College, Japheth is the director of quantitative literacy and continuing associate professor of mathematics. He directs the Bard Math Circle and is the lead coach for the Upstate New York Math Team.
